Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Kishan Kumar Singh proved to be the star performers as India U19 registered an 8-wicket victory over South Africa U19 in what was an encounter marred by rain. The win saw India U19 seal the three-match series by winning the first two games. They had won the first match by 25 runs (DLS method) and managed to get another positive result in the second match.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, South Africa didn't have a great start and lost opener Adnaan Lagadien in the seventh over to Kishan. The left-arm pacer was on fire and dismissed Jorich van Schalkwyk in his very next over before getting rid of skipper Muhammed Bulbulia. The three quick wickets left the Proteas reeling on 57/3.

After losing Armaan Malck for 16 runs, the duo of Jason Rowles and Daniel Bosman turned things around for the hosts. They formed a much-needed solid partnership where the former was the aggressor. Rowles smacked opposing bowlers all around the park while Bosman played the supporting role very well. The two formed a partnership of 97 runs before Bosman lost his wicket in the 40th over for 31 runs.
Rowles' ton got SA to respectable total
The floodgates opened after the fall of this wicket and even though Rowles went on to score a fine hundred, he didn't get much support from the other end. South Africa lost their remaining five wickets in the space of just 52 runs. They were eventually bundled out for 245 runs as Kishan proved to the top performer, recording figures of 4/46.
In reply, India made a stunning start thanks to Suryavanshi, who clobbered the South African bowling attack and went on to hit a 19-ball fifty. He dealt in maximums at one stage as the visitors piled on runs. The opening stand of 67 came to an end in the seventh over as Aaron George departed for 20. Suryavanshi was also sent back to the pavilion in the ninth over after playing a sizzling knock of 68 runs from just 24 deliveries as India went down to 95/2.
Trivedi and Kundu take India home
However, the duo of Vedant Trivedi and Abhigyan Kundu took the Men in Blue home by forming an impressive partnership of 81 runs. While Trivedi remained unbeaten on 31, Kundu was batting on 48 as India stood at 176/2 when the rain arrived and the match eventually got washed out. India won the game by 8 wickets through DLS method as their total was already above the par score.
