India speedster Mohammed Siraj was spotted having a verbal spat with Australia's star batter Travis Head during the second Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Indian star was seen giving a fiery send off to Head after dismissing him during the second Test in Adelaide.
Head scored 140 runs from 141 deliveries. His knock featured 17 fours and four sixes. This was his third century in Day/Night Tests and third in Adelaide as well. Head was looking comfortable before Siraj finally knocked the left-hander out by hitting the stumps. A heated exchange followed as Siraj appeared to exchange a few words and gestured Head towards the dug-out.
"I said well bowled but he thought otherwise, slightly disappointed with what transpired but it what it is. If that's how they got to represent themselves so be it" Head told the broadcasters after the day’s play.
“I’m slightly disappointed with how that transpired, with a couple of the past innings”
“It is what it is. If they want to react like that and that’s how they want to represent themselves, then so be it,” Head added.
Before getting out by Siraj, India dropped his catch twice, one was Siraj who dropped the Australia legend's catch 68th over of the innings. Head went for a big shot against Ravichandran Ashwin but the ball ballooned up in the air. Siraj ran back from mid-on, and dived but could not hang on to the ball. The left-handed batter was batting on 76 when his catch was dropped. In the next over, he had another reprieve. He edged one off Harshit Rana but Rishabh Pant did not dive to his left to take the catch and the ball went for a boundary.
Coming back to the match, Team India are currently struggling in the ongoing second Test match as the batters failed to build a partnership during Day 2. India ended day 2 for 128/5, trailing by 29 runs and staring at an uphill task at Adelaide.
