Melbourne Stars all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was fired up after picking up the wicket of Sydney Sixers' Babar Azam in the Big Bash League (BBL). Chasing a small target of 129, Sixers lost the Pakistan batter early as he failed to deliver once again and got dismissed for just 14 runs in the seventh over.
After taking the wicket, Stoinis was seen walking towards Babar and even said a few words to him before he departed back to the pavilion. Having already lost skipper Moises Henriques in the third over, Babar's dismissal left Sixers at 48/2 after 6.3 overs.
Sixers go on to win
Though they made a good start with the ball, the target of 129 proved to be too small for the Stars at the end of the day. The Sixers eventually won the match by 6 wickets. They reached the required target with 17 deliveries still left to spare and made it three consecutive wins in the tournament.

Josh Philippe was the side's top-scorer during the chase and played a valiant inning of 37 while the likes of Sam Curran (17), Jordan Silk (17*) and Lachlan Shaw (24*) played impactful cameos to lead them over the finish line. Ben Dwarshuis had earlier put in a phenomenal bowling display for the Sixers and had recorded figures of 4/13. Both Jack Edwards and Joel Davies had also contributed well in the bowling department by taking three and two wickets respectively.
Sixers and Stars on the points table
Sixers currently sit fourth on the BBL standings with eight points from seven games while on the other hand, the Stars are third with the same number of points, but with a better net run-rate. Stoinis & Co. have lost three games on a bounce and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they face Melbourne Renegades next on January 10. Sixers will be aiming to continue their winning streak when they face Hobart Hurricanes next on January 11.
