India's ODI captain, Rohit Sharma, and veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul are currently in Bengaluru ahead of their upcoming assignments. KL Rahul, who last featured for India in the five-Test match series of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England, will now be seen in action during the second unofficial Test against Australia A red-ball series, which is scheduled to start from September 23 at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. On the other hand, Rohit, who announced his retirement from the longest format of the game in May before the England Test series, will be seen leading India in the three-match ODI series against Australia, which is scheduled to start from October 19.

Notably, Rohit Sharma's last international outing came in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where he scored 180 runs in five outings. He was awarded Player of the Match for his 76 off 83 run knock in the final as the Men in Blue clinched their second consecutive ICC title, defeating New Zealand in the title decider at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Notably, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma last featured together in the Champions Trophy. KL Rahul scored 140 runs in the mega event.
Rohit Sharma's last cricketing outing came in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where the batting great got his rhythm back after a couple of matches with a sketchy start. He scored 418 runs in 15 outings of the tournament. There are chances that KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma will be seen in action in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. Apart from the duo, batting great Virat Kohli, who also announced his retirement from T20Is and Tests, will also be seen donning the India jersey in the same series in Australia.
