Salman Butt slams Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Butt praised Babar Azam for his captaincy.

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt said that Pakistan Cricket Board is not prioritising Test cricket ahead of the upcoming red ball series against Bangladesh. Pakistan will have a very busy Test schedule in the coming days as the Men in Green will face England after Bangladesh for the three-match Test series.

He said that the Pakistan Cricket team doesn't want to play the Test format and they are the only cricket board focusing more on T20Is.

"Do we prioritize Test cricket? Why are we suddenly so worried about our combination? We just don't want to play the format. Our boys don't play first class cricket regularly. We are the only cricket board in the world that says, 'Instead of one of the Test matches, let's have two T20Is'" said butt as quoted by sportskeeda.

Butt also took an indirect dig on Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim for criticising him on TV.  He also slammed PCB for changing the captain after ODI World Cup and giving him the captaincy back after the two series.

"He (Babar) is not a born leader. But the issue is, what have you contributed to make it easier for him? You brought in two guys who humiliated him on TV. Then you changed the captain and brought him back after two series. You are creating corners within the team yourself" added Butt.

Amir and Imad Wasim had already retired from international cricket but they came back in the squad again for the T20 World Cup 2024. Because of their inclusion in the squad, they missed the balance and the team got out of the tournament in the group stage.

Babar Azam faced a lot of heat after Pakistan failed to perform in the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024. Pakistan will now host the Champions Trophy next year.
