The third edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is slated to get underway in Vadodara on February 14, Friday. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will start their title defense against the Gujarat Giants (GG) in the tournament opener. The final match is set to take place on March 15 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Notably, leg-spinner Simran Shaikh was the most expensive player acquired at the WPL 2025 mini-auction held last December.
A total of five teams, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Delhi Capitals – will compete for the championship. A total of 22 matches will be played over the 30-day tournament.
The league stage of the WPL will run from February 15 to March 11. The Eliminator match will be held on March 13, followed by the final two days later on March 15.

WPL's format
The WPL 2025 season will feature five teams vying for the women's T20 championship. The tournament will consist of 20 group stage matches, with each team playing every other team twice. The team that finishes at the top of the points table will earn a direct entry into the final. The second and third-placed teams will then compete in an eliminator match to determine the other finalist.
