Bengaluru will host the Women's Premier League auction. The Board of Control for Cricket in India said in a press release that the event is planned to take place on December 15, at the ITC Gardenia, on Friday, 29 November. At the auction, up to 19 slots—14 Indian and 5 foreign—can be filled.
On November 7, the franchises made their individual retention announcements. The Gujarat Giants have six spots to fill and the highest money remaining after the retentions, at Rs 4.40 crore. Unlike the Indian Premier League auction, which has held its last two auctions abroad, the forthcoming sale will take place in Bengaluru. 182 players, including 62 international stars, were sold at this year's IPL auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 10 teams spent a whopping Rs 639.15 crore in the Jeddah bidding wars.
