Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is used to playing in front of big crowds. In the middle, Kohli looks unperturbed by the large crowds. Instead, he thrives on the support he receives from fans. However, during a practice session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) before India's T20 World Cup opener against arch-rivals Pakista, the 33-year-old asked fans to not shout while he was batting.

Yaar practice ke time bolo mat distraction hoti hai (Please don’t shout during the practice sessions as it distracts him),” Kohli said to fans in a video that has been making rounds on social media.

However, Kohli was not rude to the fans and requested them to not cheer too loudly as he was concentrating on getting the shots right before the big game on October 23.

Kohli has been in good form of late. During his short stay at the crease in the warm-up game against hosts Australia, he scored 19 runs from 13 deliveries. He made up for the low score with his fielding by pulling off a run out and a stunning catch at the long-on boundary in the death overs to help India by a small margin.

The Indian team reached Australia in the first week of October in order to adapt to Australian conditions. The Rohit Sharma-led side played two practice games against Western Australia in order to cover bases before the mega event.

On October 21, India’s two opponents at the Super 12 stage were finalised as well. India will take on Netherlands on October 27 in their second match. Their last group stage game will be against Zimbabwe who beat Scotland by five wickets to advance.

So far, Kohli has scored 485 runs from 14 innings in the T2OI format at an average of 44.09 including one century and four half-centuries. In the Asia Cup 2022, Kohli also ended the century drought with an unbeaten 122-run knock against Afghanistan in a dead rubber.
