England on February 10 announced their playing eleven for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 group stage clash against West Indies. England made one change to their side which featured against Nepal in a closely-fought encounter. Left-arm pacer Luke Wood made way for pace-bowling all-rounder Jamie Overton.
The Group C clash is scheduled to take place at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on February 12.

Wood and Overton’s T20I numbers against West Indies
Wood has been benched despite his decent record against West Indies. Last year, he claimed five wickets from two games at an average of 11.20 against the Caribbean side. Against Nepal, he was expensive, conceding 31 runs from three overs. His only wicket came in the penultimate over. He got rid of Gulsan Jha on the last ball of the penultimate over.
Overton has a decent record against West Indies as well. He has four wickets from three T20I innings against them at an average of 13. His economy rate against West Indies is an impressive 6.24 runs per over. He got to bat just one in a T20I against West Indies and remained unbeaten for four runs.
England, West Indies' campaign openers
On February 8, England had a narrow escape against Nepal. They won by just four runs in the last-ball thriller, courtesy Sam Curran's fantastic final over where he conceded just five runs.
On the opening day of the T20 extravaganza, West Indies beat Scotland by 35 runs. Shimron Hetmyer starred with a 36-ball 64, followed by Romario Shepherd's fifer, featuring a hat-trick.
West Indies vs England head-to-head in T20 World Cups
West Indies have had the upper hand over England in T20 World Cups, registering five wins from seven games. Their win streak was ended in 2021 when England beat West Indies by six wickets in 2021. Earlier, West Indies had beaten England in T20 World Cup 2016 final when Carlos Brathwaite hit Ben Stokes for four sixes in a row.
