Zimbabwe sealed a dominating eight-wicket win against Oman in match 8 of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Zimbabwe's batting
Chasing a small target of 104, Zimbabwe made light work of the total, reaching it with ease under the leadership of Sikandar Raza. Opener Brian Bennett led the chase with an unbeaten 48 off 36 balls.
Brendan Taylor also chipped in with a useful knock of 31 before retiring hurt. He struck three boundaries during his stay at the crease. Captain Raza finished the match in style by hitting the winning four. Tadiwanashe Marumani supported Bennett at the top, scoring 21 off just 11 balls.

For Oman, Sufyan Mehmood was the pick of the bowlers, picking up two wickets while giving away only 12 runs in his three overs.
Oman's batting
Earlier, Zimbabwe bowlers dominated Oman's batting lineup. Blessing Muzarabani provided the early breakthrough by bowling Oman captain Jatinder Singh in the second over. Richard Ngarava followed it up by dismissing Hammad Mirza in the next over, with Taylor taking a sharp catch behind the stumps.
Muzarabani struck again soon after, removing Aamir Kaleem for five and then dismissing Karan Sonavale for a duck in the same over to complete a three-wicket burst.
Oman struggled to build partnerships but found some resistance in the middle order. Sufyan Mehmood scored 25 off 39 balls, while Vinayak Shukla added a quick 28 off 21 as the pair put on 42 runs for the sixth wicket. Nadeem Khan’s late 20 off 18 balls helped Oman cross the 100-run mark.
Muzarabani, Ngarava and Brad Evans claimed three wickets each for Zimbabwe, while Raza picked up one. Muzarabani was named Player of the Match for his impressive figures of 3 for 16 in four overs.
