Australia is embarking on an intense 20-month period filled with Test cricket across several countries.

The Australian cricket team will play 21 Test matches over the next 20 months, covering series against Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand, India, and England. This packed schedule is challenging both physically and mentally. Head coach Andrew McDonald recently confirmed that the team will not play a warm-up game ahead of the historic five-match Border-Gavaskar series in India, marking their first time playing five Tests there in almost six decades. The decision is mainly due to the tight schedule and a strategic approach to manage player readiness.
Australia's demanding itinerary includes two Tests against Bangladesh, three in South Africa, and four at home against New Zealand before heading to India in late January. Between these series, they will participate in limited-overs matches such as ODIs and T20Is against England, adding to the workload. The compressed calendar leaves little room for traditional preparation, leading to the decision of forgoing warm-up matches ahead of the Indian series.
