In a remarkable display of batting prowess, Chinmay Sutar scored a quadruple century during a Ranji Trophy match against Nagaland. This feat makes him only the second player to ever reach 400 runs in a single innings in Indian domestic cricket. Prior to representing Mizoram in this season, Chinmay played for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Chinmay's incredible innings also saw him surpass Prithvi Shaw in the all-time highest scores list in Ranji Trophy history. Shaw had scored 379 against Assam in 2023, but Chinmay's unbeaten 400 placed him second on this prestigious list. Earlier in the year, Chinmay represented Mumbai in the domestic 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy, showcasing consistent performances in various local leagues.
Before the start of the 2026-2027 season, Chinmay secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association, enabling him to debut for Mizoram in the Ranji Trophy. In his season opener, although Mizoram faced a narrow three-wicket loss against Manipur, Chinmautar contributed with scores of 35 and 99, underlining his importance to the team.
This extraordinary quadruple century highlights Chinmay's remarkable talent and dedication, marking him as a standout player in India's domestic cricket circuit. His journey from Mumbai to Mizoram and his record-breaking innings reflect his ambition and skill development over the years.
