In a positive news to Team India, their star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been discharged from the hospital after suffering stomach ache during Mumbai's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Rajasthan in Pune.
Yashasvi Jaiswal released from hospital, advised proper rest
Following the conclusion of the match, Jaiswal was rushed to the Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad to undergo a thorough medical evaluation. While the symptoms initially appeared to be a standard stomach bug, medical investigations, including ultrasound scans, confirmed that he was suffering from acute gastroenteritis. To manage the condition and stabilize his health, he was administered IV medication and kept under observation.

However, as per a report by TOI, the young left-hander has since been discharged from the hospital and has returned home to Mumbai to continue his recovery. The illness has taken a significant physical toll, with Jaiswal reportedly losing over two kilograms in just a few days. As a result, doctors have prescribed a strict regimen of rest and a course of medicine, advising him to stay away from the field for at least the next seven to ten days to ensure a full recovery.
"It is food poisoning. He ate something in the Pune hotel, which has led to this. There was pain but condition is much better after timely medication. He has lost over 2 kgs already in the last two days and the doctors have asked him to rest at least for the next 7-10 days," a source privy to the development told TOI.

Jaiswal likely to miss few matches of Vijay Hazare
Given that his full recovery is expected to take at least a week, Jaiswal is now at risk of missing the opening rounds of the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. This timing is particularly unfortunate for Mumbai, as they are set to begin their campaign against Sikkim on December 24. The young opener was highly anticipated to partner with former India captain Rohit Sharma at the top of the order, a combination many were eager to see in action.
Beyond the domestic circuit, the BCCI medical team is also closely monitoring Jaiswal's condition. Their concern is tied to the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which is scheduled to begin on January 11. Ensuring Jaiswal is physically fit and fully recovered by then is a priority for the national selectors as they look ahead to the international summer.
