Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning streak as they clocked their second consecutive win in the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025. Following their dominant win over the Gujarat Giants (GG) in their opening match, the Smriti Mandhana-led team cruised to an 8-wicket win against the Delhi Capitals to go top of the WPL 2025's points table.

Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham were the standout performers for RCB, each taking three wickets, while captain Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a crucial 81-run innings. Her captain's knock guided the defending champions to a comfortable chase, reaching the target in just 16.2 overs.
Batting first after losing the toss, the Delhi Capitals endured a disastrous start, losing Shafali Verma for a golden duck in the very first over with the score at just one run. Captain Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues then attempted to steady the innings with a 59-run partnership for the second wicket. However, Lanning was dismissed for 17 runs off 19 balls, having hit three boundaries, while Rodrigues top-scored with 34 runs off 22 balls, including four fours and two sixes. Beyond these contributions, no other Delhi Capitals batter could make a significant impact. The team struggled to build partnerships, losing wickets consistently and ultimately being bowled out for 141 runs with three balls remaining. For RCB, Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham were the pick of the bowlers, each claiming three wickets, while Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht supported well with two wickets apiece.
RCB's chase got off to a flying start, thanks to a dominant opening partnership of 107 runs between captain Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge. The pair took control of the game, reaching the century mark in just 10.5 overs. Wyatt-Hodge was eventually dismissed after scoring a quickfire 42 runs off 33 balls, an innings punctuated by seven boundaries. Mandhana continued her strong performance, top-scoring with a brilliant 81 runs off just 47 deliveries, smashing 10 fours and three sixes.
Mandhana's wicket fell with RCB needing only nine runs for victory. Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh then calmly finished the chase, securing the win for RCB in 16.2 overs with the loss of just two wickets. This second consecutive victory solidifies RCB's position at the top of the WPL 2025 points table.
