Royal Challengers Bangalore lifted the Women’s Premier League 2026 title after beating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in a thrilling final. This was RCB’s second WPL trophy, and it came on the back of a brilliant captain’s knock from Smriti Mandhana and a record-breaking partnership with Georgia Wareham.
Chasing a stiff target of 204, RCB got over the line in 19.4 overs. Mandhana led from the front, scoring 87 runs off 41 balls, while Georgia Voll played a crucial hand with 79 off 54 deliveries. Together, the pair stitched a 165-run stand for the second wicket, the highest partnership in the history of the Women’s Premier League, and completely turned the game in RCB’s favour.
This win also marked a historic moment for the franchise, as RCB became the first team in franchise cricket to have both their men’s and women’s sides crowned champions. The men’s team won the title in 2025, and the women followed it up a year later.
Mandhana and Georgia Voll Steal the Show
RCB’s chase began with Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris opening the innings. Harris was dismissed early for 9 by Chinelle Henry, bringing Georgia Voll to the crease.
Mandhana attacked from the start, playing her trademark aggressive strokes, while Georgia Voll anchored the innings at the other end. The duo punished anything loose and kept the required run rate under control throughout their stand.
Georgia Voll was eventually dismissed by Minnu Mani with victory in sight, ending the massive partnership. Richa Ghosh came in and struck a six but was dismissed soon after. Mandhana continued to push RCB closer to the target before she was clean bowled by Henry for 87.
In the end, Nadine de Klerk and Radha Yadav calmly guided RCB home, sealing a famous six-wicket win.
Delhi Capitals Put Up a Big Total
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted a strong total of 203 for 4 after being asked to bat first. Captain Jemimah Rodrigues led the charge with a composed 57 off 37 balls, hitting eight boundaries. She found good support from Laura Wolvaardt, who scored 44 off 25 balls, and Chinelle Henry, who finished unbeaten on 35 from just 15 deliveries.
Jemimah and Wolvaardt added 76 runs for the third wicket, steadying the innings after a solid start from Lizelle Lee (37) and Shafali Verma (20). Delhi scored 53 runs in the power play and reached 100 in the 11th over.
The late surge came from Henry, who joined Jemimah to add a quick 55-run stand off just 24 balls for the fourth wicket, pushing Delhi past the 200-run mark.
Despite Delhi’s strong batting display, RCB’s fearless chase, led by Mandhana and Wareham, proved too much on the night.
