International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a significant addition to its leadership structure after appointing Dr Ros Rivaz as its new Independent Director.
The appointment comes at a crucial time for the global governing body as cricket continues to expand its footprint across new markets and prepares for several major international events in the coming years.
Dr Rivaz has been appointed for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of extending her tenure for an additional three-year term.

Dr Ros Rivaz brings extensive experience in corporate governance, leadership and strategic management to the ICC Board.
She currently serves as Chair of Anglian Water and UK Companies House while also holding independent director positions at Aperam SA and Victrex plc.
According to the ICC, Dr Rivaz has built a reputation for being an active and engaged board member throughout her professional career.
The governing body highlighted her experience in governance, operational effectiveness and corporate strategy while also acknowledging her strong commitment towards diversity and inclusion.
The ICC believes her expertise will strengthen decision-making processes and contribute positively towards the organisation’s long-term objectives.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence that Dr Rivaz’s international leadership experience would prove valuable for cricket’s future growth.

Dr Rivaz eager to contribute to cricket’s future growth
Apart from her corporate responsibilities, Dr Rivaz has also played an active role in supporting educational and community-based initiatives.
She has worked closely with programmes encouraging young women to pursue STEM education while also contributing to various charitable and community projects.
