Speaking to Sportstar, Saikia confirmed that the selectors are set to meet virtually to finalise India's squad.
"We will convene a virtual meeting in the next couple of days to pick the squad."
India will begin the two-match Test series in Galle on August 15, before shifting to Colombo for the second Test, scheduled from August 23 to 27.

BCCI to review India's recent white-ball performances
Alongside preparations for the Sri Lanka Tests, the BCCI is also expected to review India's recent performances in limited-overs cricket.
According to the report, a meeting involving the team management, selectors and senior BCCI officials will be held after the T20I squad returns from Zimbabwe. The discussions are expected to take place at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai and will focus on India's white-ball roadmap ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
The review comes after India suffered successive white-ball series defeats in Ireland and England. The T20I side, led by Shreyas Iyer, endured a disappointing tour of Ireland before losing the series in England, while the ODI team under Shubman Gill also went down despite the presence of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
