Manchester United stand-in captain Cristiano Ronaldo got involved in an ugly spat with Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings in the Premier League clash on November 6 at Villa Park stadium. The social media has gone bonkers over the altercation that looked like a brawl on the streets.

The incident took place in the 60th minute of the game. Ronaldo got frustrated by Mings who had closely marked him throughout the game. Expressing his frustration after Alejandro Garnacho's run could not amount to anything.

The Portuguese legend dragged him to the ground and players from both teams tried to break off the fight near the goal post. The referee even stopped the game and took help of VAR for the incident. After watching the replay, the referee gave Ronaldo a yellow card.

At that time, Manchester United were trailing by two goals. No Manchester United player managed to find the back of the net in the game. In the 1-3 loss to Aston Villa, the goal in Red Devils’ favour was an own goal Jacob Ramsey as he could not keep the deflection away.

This was United's first defeat of the season since the start of October. Before the clash against Aston Villa, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag handed Ronaldo the captain's armband. This was done after Ronaldo stormed down the tunnel after being an unused substitute against Toottenham Hotspur more than two weeks ago.

So far, Ronaldo has scored only three goals and provided two assists in the 16 appearances in the current season. It will be interesting to see how Ronaldo tackles Mings when they take on each other in Carabao Cup clash on November 11.

On the other hand, it was a dream Premier League return for Unai Emery as Aston Villa's 27-year-old long-running losing streak at home against the Red Devils (23 games). This was Manchester United's fourth defeat of the season. Currently, they are placed fifth on the table with seven wins from 13 games.
