Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has criticised consecutive controversial refereeing calls following his side's 2-1 Premier League loss to Leeds United on Monday night, with Lisandro Martínez sent off for a hair-pull incident.

Carrick described the red card as "shocking" and "one of the worst I've ever seen," arguing Martínez was off-balance after an arm to his face and only lightly touched the back of Calvert-Lewin's hair, dislodging a hair bobble. He said:
"It's two games in a row we've had those decisions go against us.”
Carrick also praised his players' fight with 10 men. Captain Bruno Fernandes had also stated his frustrations over inconsistent officiating. The United star, however, stated that he cannot speak much about the decisions, as it will cause him trouble.
Meanwhile, Leeds took the lead through a Noah Okafor brace in the first half, exploiting what Carrick described as an unchallenged forearm to the head of Leny Yoro in the build-up to the opener.
The Red Devils responded in the second half with a header from Casemiro, but were reduced to 10 men when the referee, following a VAR review, showed Martínez a straight red card for violent conduct after he appeared to tug Dominic Calvert-Lewin's hair. The Argentine defender will now serve a three-match suspension.
