In the series unfortunate events, Brazil crashed out of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 after losing 2-1 to Norway in their Round of 16 clash on Monday, July 6 at the New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford. Along with Brazil's ugly exit, star forward Neymar retired from international football.

However, Neymar had his moment in the game after he scored a late consolation goal for Brazil in the 1-2 loss from the penalty spot. The former Barcelona forward was seen having a verbal altercation with Norway' goalkeeper Orjan Nyland before and after scoring a penalty.
When the heated moment took place?
The moment took place just before Neymar arrived to take the penalty. Nyland, who had earlier made some of the best saves of the tournament by stopping Bruno Guimaraes from the penalty spot, tried to unsettle Neymar with a bit of psychological pressure before the Santos star took his kick.
“Where do you want it?" Neymar asked Nyland.
“I’ll stop it for you, I’ll stop it," replied Nyland.
“Not to me! Not to me!" said Neymar after scoring the penalty.

Neymar joins big feat despite Brazil's exit
Despite Brazil's exit from the tournament, Neymar managed to join an elite list of players. The former Barcelona forward managed to slot the ball from the penalty in the 100th minute of the game, with this he became one of the few players to score in multiple world cups.
Neymar joined the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the elite list. The Portuguese star Ronaldo has managed to score a single goal in every world cup he competed in. whereas Messi has managed to score in five out of the six world cups he played for Argentina.
