The presentation took place at Chevening House, a historic venue for diplomatic meetings, where Lammy hosted Jaishankar as his first official guest.

Welcoming Jaishankar, Lammy underscored the importance of 2025 in advancing UK-India relations to new heights. Expressing his enthusiasm, he remarked, "It is a great privilege to have you here as my first guest. 2025 is going to be a special year for moving the UK-India relationship into a new era." His comments, shared via an Instagram video capturing highlights of the meeting, reflected the positive momentum in bilateral ties.

Discussions on a bilateral scale included a number of areas of cooperation during the visit by Jaishankar and Lammy. Discussions included matters of strategic coordination, political cooperation, trade negotiations, education, technology, and mobility.
