Ahead of the Indian Senior Women’s Football Team trip to Jordan, the squad of 33 players were recently hosted by Parimal Nathwani, the president of the Gujarat State Football Association (GSFA) in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The national football team were in the city for a coaching camp ahead of their two friendly matches against Jordan followed by one more against Uzbekistan at the end of the month. They will then head to Kyrgyzstan in early April for two Olympic qualifier matches.

Nathwani interacted with the players of the side before they leave from Ahmedabad on March 16, 2023.

During the interaction, Shri Nathwani expressed his gratitude towards the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) for organising the coaching camp in Ahmedabad for the team. The GSFA president also thanked the other officials from the organization, including Vice President Arunsinh Rajput, Secretary Mulrajsinh Chudasma, Executive Committee Members Divyarajsinh Rana, and Shapath Shah, for their support in making this event a success.

The team's visit to Gujarat for the coaching camp is expected to bring more attention to women's football in the state and inspire more girls to take up the sport. The support from GSFA and SAG is a testament to the growing popularity of football in India, particularly among women.

For the national team, they will hope to improve on the draws against Nepal in mid-February. They first drew 2-2, before being held 0-0, and will hope to do better in the two tough matches against Jordan and then their clash against Uzbekistan, before their Group G Olympic qualifying clash against Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan respectively.
