Pedro has issued a calm and composed statement following his omission from Brazil's squad. In a message shared on social media, the 23-year-old expressed acceptance of the decision, acknowledging the inherent “joys and frustrations” of football while reaffirming his commitment to support the national team as a dedicated fan. He wrote:

“I tried to give my best at all times. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to fulfill this dream of representing my country in a World Cup, but I remain calm and focused, as I always try to be”.

The Blues player added:

“Joys and frustrations are part of football. From now on, I wish good luck to everyone who is there and I will be just another fan cheering for them to bring the sixth title home”.

Ancelotti’s first squad selection for the tournament has sparked significant debate among Brazilian fans and media. Pedro, who has been in strong form for Chelsea, was overlooked in favor of more experienced attackers, including veterans like Neymar.

The exclusion comes despite the young striker’s recent performances and growing reputation in the Premier League. His omission highlights Ancelotti’s preference for established names as Brazil prepares for its home-soil World Cup campaign in 2026.
