Marks the end of a five-year journey through Arsenal’s youth ranks.

Arsenal F.C. prospect Daniel Oyetunde has officially ended his five-year association with the North London side, sealing a permanent transfer to USL League One outfit Fort Wayne FC. The 19-year-old forward departs in pursuit of regular senior football, marking a decisive new chapter in his career.

A promising journey in North London

Oyetunde joined Arsenal in 2021 and steadily progressed through the club’s youth ranks. Representing the under-18, U19 and U21 sides, the 2006-born attacker made 31 appearances across competitions, showcasing his development within one of England’s most competitive academy systems.

In July 2025, he signed his first professional contract with the Gunners — a significant milestone that underlined the club’s belief in his potential. Earlier this season, he gained valuable senior exposure during a loan spell at St Albans City.

The forward featured in the FA Cup first round against Burton Albion and announced himself emphatically by scoring one minute into his league debut for the non-league side.

He later made his Arsenal U21 debut in January 2026, but with opportunities at senior level limited, Daniel Oyetunde opted to accelerate his transition into men’s football.

A bold move across the Atlantic

Fort Wayne FC confirmed the permanent signing as they continue assembling their squad ahead of their first professional campaign.

Oyetunde becomes the 17th addition to the roster, with the club preparing for their opening fixture against FC Naples in Florida in early March. The move remains subject to league and federation approval in the United States.

Speaking to club media following confirmation of the transfer, Oyetunde reflected on his time in North London and his reasons for embracing the American project.

“I’d been at Arsenal for the past five years and played throughout the age groups there from under-15 to under-21.

“I’ve chosen Fort Wayne because I believe it’s the right next step for my career as it’s men’s football in a good league.

“This new project is exciting, and I can’t wait to get started.”

For Arsenal, Daniel Oyetunde’s departure represents another academy graduate seeking first-team pathways beyond the Premier League spotlight.
