Arsenal have recognized Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito as a potential target for their Summer transfer plan. The Gunners are preparing plans for the future as they aim to remain among Europe's best sides in the coming years.
Mikel Arteta wants Inter Milan's young sensation
A report from Football Transfers has disclosed that Mikel Arteta's side are interested in Italy international Esposito for the summer. They have scouted the 20-year-old extensively, and will continue to keep a tab on him as the season progresses.
Arteta wants to add Esposito to his squad as a back-up option for the striker position, behind Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz. With Jesus' future unclear and Havertz having fitness concerns, Esposito is the target of the Gunners boss to beef up his options.
All about Pio Esposito
Pio Esposito rose through the ranks at Inter Milan before spending two seasons at Spezia, where he got his first chance in senior football. The youngster came back to Inter Milan and has since played 33 games across all competitions. He has scored six goals and six assists for the club in only 12 starts.
A five-cap Italy international, Esposito has a great physical game in the mould of Gyokeres in the current Arsenal set-up. The highly-rated youngster is behind Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Ange-Yoan Bonny in the pecking order for the Nerazzurri, and could be interested in a move abroad.
