Pep Guardiola has provided his opinion on the UEFA Champions League semifinal clashes between Pari Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich and Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid. PSG vs Bayern's first leg had football fans’ attention and has been considered as one of the best matches in recent years. 

Bayern-PSG or Arsenal-Atletico? Pep Guardiola has a clear response

The Manchester City boss was asked about which match was better, and he had a very straight answer. The Catalan boss described both the high-scoring encounters as good games. The former FC Barcelona head coach sees the beauty in football's variety. 

Speaking after the midweek Champions League semi-final first legs, Guardiola told reporters that "football, everywhere, is nice" and highlighted the differing approaches as part of what makes the sport appealing. He said: 

“Football, everywhere, is nice. It was a good game, nice!”.

Guardiola added:

“The day after Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal a different style, it was a good game too!”.

The PSG-Bayern match on 28 April ended in a thrilling 5-4 victory for the French side in an open, goal-filled contest. The following day, Atletico and Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw in Madrid, with both goals coming from penalties in a tighter, more tactical affair. Guardiola, who jokingly admitted to watching Stockport County in person instead of the PSG-Bayern game live, noted it was "a good game, nice" and that Atletico-Arsenal was "a different style... a good game too."

Guardiola, whose team was knocked out by Real Madrid in the Round of 16, believes that football is beautiful without comparing the style of play of both the UCL clashes of the semifinal first leg, despite Bayern vs PSG being football fans’ favourite.
