In a startling incident during Borussia Monchengladbach team's fan bus was inadvertently hit by a bullet from a police officer's gun during the Bundesliga match against Augsburg. The event occurred outside the stadium, raising concerns about safety measures during high-profile football games.
Augsburg police have launched an inquiry into the mishap. According to them, the gun was accidentally discharged in a designated restricted zone adjacent to the stadium. Detailing the aftermath, the police's statement mentioned, “Three officers suffered trauma from the blast, one officer got a graze. Other people were not injured. A police vehicle and a fan bus were damaged in the incident.”
To bring attention to the damages caused, Fanhilfe Monchengladbach, an organisation devoted to supporting fans during matches, shared images on social media that highlighted the harm inflicted on the bus due to the stray bullet.
Corroborating the absence of any injuries, Fanhilfe added, “The shot went off accidentally and fortunately didn’t hit anyone. The vehicle was empty at the time.”

The incident could have had dire consequences, underlining the imperative for rigorous training and stringent security measures for all personnel, especially law enforcement, during major events like Bundesliga matches.
