Story Highlights:

Bruno Fernandes named La Liga, Serie A, and the Primeira Liga as his preferred destinations outside the Premier League.

The United skipper admitted he feels “on thin ice” as players over 30 are often undervalued in English football.

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes picked three leagues he would love to move if he's supposed to leave the Red Devils. The 31-year-old is contracted at Old Trafford till 2027.

Having joined the club in January 2020, Fernades has amassed 103 goals in 3017 games across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the key players.

Although his future at the club doesn't look uncertain, Fernandes named the Primeira Liga, La Liga and Serie A as the places he would prefer to play in if he leaves the Premier League.

"I want to stay at Manchester United as long as I feel desired, he said (as per Tribal Football). "I would like to experience the Spanish league and fight for big titles in Italy. I have many connections to Italy… my daughter was born there.

Fernandes added:

“I’ve already thought about returning to Portugal… the first option would be Sporting. To be happy, like it was with Sporting. But I don’t want to ruin the image that was left.

"But I don’t want to drag myself there, I want to add to it. And even try district football, at an advanced age. You play in the district for love, you feel different. I have friends in the district.”

Fernandes has scored five goals and seven assists in 17 games this season - all in the Premier League - where Ruben Amorim's team are sixth after 16 games, ahead of holders Liverpool on goal difference.

Bruno Fernandes makes big claim about Manchester United stay

Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he feels like he is on thin ice at Manchester United, as English Clubs look to sell players when they reach the age of 30. He added that the players are treated as furniture and said:

“Until you win trophies, you’re not valued as much, regardless of the club and league you’re in. I was valued, and what values me most has to be my club, although lately I feel like I’m on thin ice. In England, when a player starts approaching 30, they start thinking they need a makeover. It’s like the furniture.”
