Reports suggest Inter Miami could be Lewandowski’s next destination, with the striker keeping his future options open amid Saudi and European interest.

Lewandowski and his agent have played down any January exit, insisting the striker remains focused on Barcelona for now.

Lionel Messi's Inter Miami have reportedly started hunting for Barcelona star striker Robert Lewandowski. The MLS champions are interested in signing him on a free transfer after his contract comes to an end of the season.

Robert Lewandowski to join Inter Miami?

As per Polish journalist Marek Jozwiak, Inter Miami looks like next stop for Lewandowski amid reports of the Saudi Pro League and Fenerbahce. The striker kept his options very open and is now close to making a decision on his future.

Robert Lewandowski on his future

Lewandowski talked about his future earlier this season, saying that he was cool about it and would not rush into a decision. He signaled that there were no offers from Barcelona and said:

"I still don't know the answer. That's why I'm not in a hurry, I'm at peace with myself. And that is the most important thing. Even if, for example, the club contacted me now, I still wouldn't answer that question. Because I also have to feel what's best for me. Now I'm calm, I'm not in a hurry and, at the moment, I don't expect anything else."

The striker's agent, Pini Zahavi, also talked about the Polish striker's future disclosing that he would not be moving in the January transfer window. He said:

“Everything being said about Lewandowski's possible departure in the winter transfer window is completely false. Robert isn’t thinking about leaving right now; he’s completely focused on helping the team and winning titles. He feels completely settled in Barca and has no intention of opening the door to a mid-season exit.”

Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami signed Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba from Barcelona in recent years, and the duo have left the sport after the conclusion of the 2025 MLS season. They are now looking for a long term replacement for Luis Suarez.

Lionel Messi's Inter Miami signed Sergio Reguilon on Monday

Inter Miami replaced Jordi Alba with free agent Sergio Reguilon on Monday, December 15, following the Spanish announced his retirement at the end of the 2025 MLS season. The former Real Madrid defender spoke to the club's media team after signing and said:

“I think it’s a very ambitious project. It’s a club that’s doing things very well. They’re the current champions, and that’s what attracts me - winning teams. Both the people at the club and the owners are doing a great job, and that shows.”

Talking about sharing the pitch with Lionel Messi, the Spaniard said:

“It’s a really exciting reason to come here: to keep winning and keep competing. I won’t lie - coming here to play with Leo is an extra motivation."

Reguilon was a free agent following his release from Tottenham in the summer. Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami were not the only team interested in getting him, with reports claiming that Saudi Arabian and Iranian sides were also interested.
