At post-match, Eze expressed his happiness at reaching one more step closer to winning the competition. The England forward admitted that Mansfield gave them a good competition which made things a little tricky for the Gunners.

“It is a special competition and we all want to play in it, but the main thing is getting to the next round, and that’s what we have set out to do. It wasn’t easy; it was a difficult game, but we put in the performance where necessary," Eze told ESPN.

In his game, Eze described his goal as a blessing from almighty and claimed to be possessed by a Holy Spirit. He said that he always looks for an opportunity to contribute whenever he is near the box.

“I am possessed by Holy Spirit. I saw the opportunity and space to get the shot off, and whenever I am within and around the box, I want to try to create and make things happen. Yeah, today [on Saturday] I scored, and I thank God for it,” Eze concluded.

Last summer, Eze gave his nod to a move to Arsenal from Crystal Palace. So far in the Premier League, Eze contributed with six goals and two assists in 24 matches. In the EFL Cup, he played four games and scored one goal, he is yet to open his account in the UEFA Champions League.
