Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed the last club he wants to manage and his future with FC Barcelona amid the stunning form in La Liga, where they stand top of the table. However, it was the end of their UEFA Champions League campaign where they had been unlucky for years, getting knocked out by Atletico Madrid from the quarter finals this year.
Hansi Flick declares Barcelona as final coaching destination
Flick has once again confirmed that the Catalan club will be the last of his managerial career, doubling down on his commitment to the project. The German tactician stated:
“My last club will be Barcelona, for sure.”
The declaration comes amid strong performances under Flick, who took over in May 2024 and has since stabilized the team, delivering competitive results in La Liga, overtaking arch-rivals Real Madrid. Flick first expressed these sentiments in March during interviews ahead of key matches, stating his satisfaction with the environment, squad, and leadership at Barcelona.
Flick has dismissed speculation linking him to other roles, noting his focus remains solely on delivering success with the Blaugrana. Discussions around an early contract extension are reportedly underway, reflecting mutual interest in a prolonged partnership.
The former Bayern Munich and Germany coach's tenure has been marked by tactical clarity and attacking flair, earning praise from the fans who view him as a potential architect of future trophies, including a long-awaited Champions League title.
Flick also stated that he desires to win the Champions League with the club. While Barcelona's journey at the UCL has come to an end this year, Flick’s wish to win the title suggests that he is staying next year as well.
