The Gunners’ commanding 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby, Mikel Arteta's side sit atop the table with five points clear

The Premier League title race in the 2025-26 season has reached a thrilling crescendo as Arsenal and Manchester City battle fiercely for supremacy once again. Following The Gunners’ commanding 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby, Mikel Arteta's side sit atop the table with five points clear.

Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola, trails in second place with 56 points from 27 games, maintaining a game in hand that keeps the gap at five points but leaves room for a swift turnaround. Amid this, Gary Neville has dropped a bombshell prediction on Arsenal’s title defense against the Sky Blues.

Gary Neville drops bombshell verdict on Arsenal's title fate at Etihad

Gary Neville, on Sky Sports, boldly predicted Arsenal would defeat Guardiola’s squad at the Etihad Stadium in April, viewing it as the decisive moment to secure the Premier League title amid the Gunners' current lead after 27 matches. He said:

"I think they'll go and win at City. I think they'll go and win."

The former Manchester United player continued:

"I think that will be where you really do recognise that they are champions."

This prediction contrasts sharply with Arsenal's dismal historical record at the Etihad, where they have failed to win in their last 10 Premier League visits since 2015. This two-horse contest has intensified after Arsenal's recent response to a midweek stumble at Wolves, delivering a statement performance against their rivals, while City's gritty 2-1 win over Newcastle applied prior pressure.

With around 10 fixtures remaining, including a pivotal clash at the Etihad in April, the race remains wide open, blending Arsenal's resilient momentum with City's proven late-season prowess.
