PSG manager Luis Enrique defined the UCL round of 16 leg-1 loss against Liverpool as "unfair". Paris Saint Germain dominated the Reds from start to finish yet could not capitalise on the impressive stats they showcased throughout the match. PSG recorded 10 shots on target but could not score the goal, whereas Liverpool slotted one in even after hitting just two on the target at the Parc des Princes.

Harvey Elliott's goal in the 87th minute of the game yet again exclaimed why the sport is all about goals. PSG held the possession for 70.50% and had '27 shots, yet ended up on the losing side, all because they weren't the ones to score a goal in the match.

Following the culmination of the game, PSG manager Luis Enrique outrightly called the result as unfair but also admitted the harsh reality of football.

"I think we deserved a different result - but football is like this,' he said after the final whistle. 'It is often a game of injustice.

"The goalkeeper was exceptional. Alisson decided which way the game went. Liverpool have never played like this this season. And it's not because they chose to. It's because we made them.

"But the details are Alisson made five amazing saves. We were very superior."

The result ended the greatest unbeaten streak in Europe's top five leagues, as PSG went on a stunning run of form following a Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich in November.

Les Parisiens had not lost in an incredible 22 games and appeared to be on their way to winning the Ligue 1 title again, but Arne Slot's team finally came to a temporary halt.

"Their best player was the goalkeeper," Enrique added to French broadcaster Canal+.

"We were far better than Liverpool. Far better! But they won that game. That's very unfair.

"I don't see any negative aspects. I'm very proud of my team, very proud of my players. There is a second leg to be played at Liverpool. We won't give up."
