Lamine Yamal has sent a clear message to the rival fans who criticize and boo him. The FC Barcelona star believes that the reason behind him being called out by the rival is that they consider him an important player. If he were someone ordinary, they would not boo him.

As per a report by Fabrizio Romano on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Lamal said:
“If the rival fans boo me… it's because they know I'm an important player on the field”.
The Spanish winger further said:
“If I were another player, they wouldn't boo me”.
Football has witnessed it several times that fans show displeasure toward rival players. Especially when it's a rivalry between something like Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona. The hostility from the home crowd in the El Clasico is always sharp towards the rivals, and the 18-year-old became the victim of it too.
Ahead of the El Clasico, the player had sparked controversy with his statement regarding the Spanish rivals. The No. 10 player stated that Los Blancos “steal and complain,” during a Kings League broadcast with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos and former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué.

This did not sit right with the 15-time UCL Champion fans, and they responded to the player with boos. Even the recent El Clasico ended with controversy when the players from the two teams were involved in a heated verbal clash, especially Dani Carvajal, Yamala, and Vinicius Jr.
Meanwhile, this was the first El Clasico of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu. The next one is scheduled to be held next year on May 11 at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Barcelona, in the Week 35n of La Liga.
