Karim Benzema is all hail for his new team following a blockbuster transfer. The French professional has compared Al Hilal to his former club, Real Madrid. The 38-year-old said goodbye to yellow and hello to blue following his three-year stint at Jeddah-based football club Al-Ittihad.

Benzema, following the move, spoke for the first time and told the club website:
"It's a good team, with a good history. They have won a lot of trophies.”
Benzema, further, compared the team’s winning mentality with his former club, Real Madrid, and said:
"It's similar, like Real Madrid in Asia.”
The Saudi Pro League star revealed that he already had his first training with the side and is happy to be part of the team. The former Los Blancos player announced his move to the Riyadh-based football club via Instagram.
Benzema has joined the new club on a free transfer. According to reports, the player had offers from Europe; however, he decided to stay in the Saudi Pro League and continue his journey in Asia.
Meanwhile, Benzema spent 19 seasons with Real Madrid from 2009 until his departure in 2023, winning 25 titles with the Whites. He has netted 354 goals in 648 games, which ranks him second on the list of the Spanish Giants’ top scorers.
