Football superstar Lionel Messi is all set to virtually unveil a 70-foot statue of himself at the Sreebhumi Sporting Club in Lake Town, Kolkata, before kicking off his much-awaited GOAT Tour India 2025. Messi, who arrived in Kolata on early Saturday morning, received a warm welcome in the city of joy.

The Sreebhumi Sporting Club has constructed a massive 70-foot iron statue of Messi holding the FIFA World Cup trophy, celebrating his historic 2022 World Cup win with Argentina. The legendary footballer will unveil the statue virtually, making the event even more special for his fans. West Bengal Minister and Sreebhumi Sporting Club President Sujit Bose shared that the monumental statue was completed in just 40 days, a record time for such a massive structure.

Notably, this is Lionel Messi's second visit to India since 2011. During his previous visit, the legendary footballer played a friendly match at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, where Argentina defeated Venezuela 1-0.
Messi's GOAT Tour India 2025 schedule
Messi’s GOAT India Tour will begin in Kolkata, where he is scheduled to take part in several engagements throughout the day before flying to Hyderabad. After completing his programmes in Hyderabad, the football legend will head to Mumbai and later travel to Delhi.
The GOAT India Tour 2025 has been planned as a nationwide celebration, covering all major regions of the country. The tour starts in the East with Kolkata and the South with Hyderabad on December 13, moves to the West with a stop in Mumbai on December 14, and concludes in the North with Delhi on December 15.
