Manchester United loanee Andre Onana has been associated with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan at the end of the season, as per reports. The Cameroon player is presently spending his loan spell at Turkish club Trabzonspor until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Andre Onana's comeback to Inter Milan on the cards?
As per a report from Daily Mail, Onana's entourage are in talks with Inter Milan for a comeback to the club in the summer. The Serie A side are aiming to find a replacement for veteran shot-stopper Yann Sommer, and are considering a number of options for the position.
Andre Onana had a great stint in Italy with the Nerazzurri, having joined the club as a free agent in the summer of 2022. He won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, and led the club to reach the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2023. He moved to Manchester United after just a season in Italy for a reported fee of around £46 million, reuniting with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Andre Onana's disappointing stint with Manchester United
Onana's stint at Manchester United went through several troubles, with the goalkeeper often on the receiving end of fan abuse because of his flop outings for the club. He played 102 games for the club, securing 24 clean sheets before Ruben Amorim sanctioned a loan move to Trabzonspor for him last summer. He has played 15 games for the Turkish club, securing three clean sheets.
Manchester United seem to part ways with the 29-year-old this summer, having already signed Senne Lammens as their starting goalkeeper. They will be satisfied to recoup some of their initial investment in Onana to sell him in the summer.
Big blow for Manchester United
Manchester United have faced a massive blow to their season after in form player Patrick Dorgu picked up a hamstring injury in the win against Arsenal. The Denmark international was on target for the Red Devils as they won the game 3-2 at the Emirates on Sunday.
As per journalist Laurie Whitwell, Dorgu is set to stay on the sidelines for 10 weeks because of his injury. The youngster was forced off in the 81st minute of the win against Arsenal with what was suspected to be cramp but has now been found to have been an injury.
Patrick Dorgu was having a decent start to life under new head coach Michael Carrick in a new-found attacking role. The 21-year-old scored in each of Carrick's first two games in charge and will be a big miss until the final weeks of the season.
