Ruben Amorim Weighs In On Marcus Rashford's Impressive Show For Aston Villa

Rashford has added sizeable value to the Villa side since arriving at the Villa Park. He has emerged as a constant threat in front of the goal and before Sunday had chipped in four assists for the Unai Emery side. His wait for a direct goal contribution ended on Sunday when he netted twice for Villa in the FA Cup.

To refresh the memory, Rashford was a vital part of the Man United side for the most part of the last decade - making more than 400 appearances for his boyhood club - but the instability began after Amorin took over the helm.

Amorim publicly criticised Rushford's output in training and gave a green flag to Premier League rivals Aston Villa to take him on loan.

Villa are not obligated to sign Rashford on a permanent transfer but owing to his superb show on the field, they may decide to enter into negotiations with a solid intent. United could of course choose to call Rashford back following the culmination of the loan duration but that would require Amorim to change his mind, who is quite content to see the forward fare better for Villa.

"We have a lot of games to play and I am focused on my team and my players and Marcus is not my player at the moment," Amorim said at his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon when asked about Rashford’s form for Villa.

"But every player that performs well on loan is good news for my club so I am happy with that."

Marcus Rashford On Making The Mark For Villa

Marcus Rashford expressed satisfaction after opening his goal account for United. Having scored for the first time since December 1, the England international stated that he is "enjoying his football" for the Midlands club.

‘It’s a great feeling,’ Rashford told BBC Sport. ‘It’s always nice for a forward to get a goal, so hopefully it continues.

"I feel like I’ve been getting fitter and playing better football since I’ve been here. I missed a lot of football before joining up with them. My body feels good and I’m enjoying my football for now."

Aston Villa are gearing up for a mouth-watering finale to the season ahead of an FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace and a Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
