Kylian Mbappé has once again delivered a strong performance in the FIFA World Cup, and it's just the beginning. The 27-year-old superstar netted his 13th and 14th career World Cup goals, surpassing Just Fontaine’s long-standing record of 13 to become France’s all-time leading scorer in the tournament. His first strike in the 66th minute broke a scoreless deadlock and tied him with Olivier Giroud’s overall international tally for Les Bleus, while the second, a stoppage-time stunner, clinched the three points and moved him level with Gerd Müller on 14 World Cup goals overall.

Bradley Barcola, coming off the bench, added a delightful chip in the 82nd minute for his first World Cup goal, giving France a commanding 2-0 lead. Senegal pulled one back through Ibrahim Mbaye in the 90+5th minute, but Mbappé had the final say moments later.

The victory sends a strong message from the reigning runners-up, who looked sharp despite a slow first half. With depth across the attack, including contributions from players like Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise, France appears well-positioned in Group I.
