Mohamed Salah has been dropped from the Liverpool squad against Inter Milan on Tuesday after his bombshell comments. However, the forward will not face any disciplinary action due to his controversial remarks.
This comes just two days after his explosive interview following the Reds’ 3-3 draw against Leeds United. The 33-year-old had revealed that he had been "thrown under the bus", and spoke about having no relationship with head coach Arne Slot.
Liverpool boss drops Mo Salah squad against Inter Milan after Arne Slot bombshell
According to a post by Fabrizio Romano, the Liverpool management and boss Arne Slot together decided for Salah to be out for a ‘short period’ after his comments. The Italian transfer expert further wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that the club “approves Slot’s position on this case in order to mantain situation under control.”
It is expected that Salah might play his final Liverpool game when the club faces Brighton on Saturday at Anfield. The forward did take part in the training ahead of the game against Milan, but will not travel to Italy.
Salah started off the bench in the team’s last three matches, having been the Reds’ starter ever since he joined the club in 2017. The player has scored five goals in the 18 matches. Slot is also scheduled to speak to the media ahead of the Premier League’s game against Milan.
