Paris St Germain (PSG) has officially announced the acquisition of Ousmane Dembele, inking a five-year contract with the forward. The former Barcelona ace has made the move for a transfer fee of 50.4 million euros (approximately £43.5m).

Having transitioned from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona in 2017 for a staggering sum believed to be around £135.5m, Dembele's stint with the LaLiga titans was nothing short of impressive. Over his tenure, he donned the Barcelona jersey 185 times, finding the net on 40 occasions. His contributions were pivotal in clinching several titles for Barcelona, including three LaLiga championships, a pair of Spanish Cups, and two Spanish Supercups.

On the international front, Dembele has proudly represented France 37 times. He was a notable figure in the previous year's World Cup hosted in Qatar, where the French squad showcased their prowess, only narrowly missing the top spot and concluding the tournament as runners-up.

Reflecting on this significant career move, Dembele expressed his enthusiasm on the PSG official website, stating, "I’m delighted to be joining Paris St Germain and can’t wait to play for my new club. I hope I can continue to grow here and make all the club’s fans proud."

This transfer further strengthens PSG's formidable lineup, promising an exciting season ahead for the club's fans and football enthusiasts globally.
