Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of the pre-World Cup squad announced by Portugal for warm-up games in North America. The Al Nassr superstar is set to play in what is to be his last dance; however was left out of the squad for the friendlies. However, coach Roberto Martinez has assured that he will be included in the final squad list for the footballing major.

The reason behind sidelining Ronaldo is that the football legend is still recovering from a right hamstring injury. While his fitness was a concern. The player had sustained the muscular problem while playing for Saudi Pro League leaders Al Nassr in late February.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player has undergone treatment in Madrid i the past two weeks; however, he won't be available to play when his side faces Mexico on March 28.

 Although Romaldo is absent for the upcoming warm-up match, he will be there for the World Cup showdown. Head coach Martinez, as per a report in ESPN, made it clear that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is not at risk of missing the World Cup 2026. He said:

"No, he's not in danger.”

 Martinez added: 

"Everything Cristiano has done physically this season shows that he's in great shape."

Ronaldo has netted 143 times for Portugal and is the all-time leading scorer in men's international football. It will be a record of his sixth World Cup when he takes to the pitch for the major held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
