Real Madrid are going through a challenging season, and to make it worse, they have lost a new player to injury ahead of the blockbuster games lined up. The team, which saw its Xabi Alonso sacked in the middle of the season, months after his tenure, is now stunned by a new injury to its star forward.
Real Madrid reveals Rodygo’s injury report with no return timeline
Real Madrid's official post has announced forward Rodrygo's diagnosis of tendinosis in his right hamstring following medical tests. The Spanish giants have mentioned no specific recovery timeline. However, external reports are estimating a 10-day absence for the Brazilian. The club wrote on their official website, as they monitor his situation:
"Following tests carried out today on our player Rodrygo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with tendinosis in the hamstring of his right leg."
This injury adds to Madrid's attacking concerns amid a packed February schedule. The Los Blancos are scheduled with important fixtures coming up, including La Liga clashes and Champions League preparations, potentially forcing reliance on Vinícius Junior and youngster Arda Guler.
Meanwhile, the Whites are currently second in La Liga, closely following arch-rivals FC Barcelona on top. In the UEFA Champions League, they're through to the knockout playoff round and are set to face Benfica again, in the two-legged tie. Alvaro Arbeloa’s side fell to Jose Mourinho’s side recently in the final day of the group stage UCL clash, where they were knocked out of the final eight and denied a direct qualification to the Round of 16.
