Sergio Aguero backs Erling Haaland

In a conversation with GOAL, the former Manchester City striker said that it is very normal not to score in some matches and every forward goes through this kind of a phase in their careers, where they fail to find the net.

He backed Haaland by mentioning his record in the ongoing season and countered everyone who raised doubts on the striker's form.

"Erling has 22 goals in 26 Premier League games this season,” he said. “And that's just in the Premier League. What slump are they talking about? Besides, it's normal for him not to score in some games, but that's to be expected from a striker," said Aguero.

Haaland went goalless in Manchester City's 2-1 win against Newcastle United in the Premier League, but managed to produce one assist.

In the Premier League, Haaland went through a goalless streak between late December and early February, where he managed to register a single goal in seven league matches.
