In an interview with DAZN, the recently turned 19-year-old star, Yamal, said:
“Facing Leo Messi in a World Cup final would be fantastic. I hope so!”
The comment comes as the football world looks ahead to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Both Spain and Argentina are among the favourites, raising the possibility of a dream final between the reigning European champions and the 2022 title holders.
Yamal, who burst onto the scene with standout performances for Spain at Euro 2024, is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football. Messi, now 39, continues to inspire as captain of Argentina.
