Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero has claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez declined to meet Cristiano Ronaldo's contract demands, which led to his departure. He claims it was one of the president's big mistakes at the club.

“I always agree with 95% of Florentino Pérez’s decisions. But I disagreed with him on this matter (Cristiano leaving).
