Marc Cucurella has made a bold commitment tied to Spain's ambitions at the upcoming World Cup. The Chelsea defender has spoken warmly about his relationship with Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

In an interview with Spanish radio station Cope, the left-back highlighted the close connection he shares with the coach, crediting de la Fuente for fostering a strong team spirit that contributed to Spain's Euro 2024 triumph. Meanwhile, if Spain wins the World Cup, he revealed that he will get a tattoo of his head coach. He said:

“If we win the World Cup, I would get a tattoo of Luis de la Fuente's face!”

Cucurella described the environment within the squad as familial and motivating. The 26-year-old has been a key squad player under de la Fuente, featuring prominently in recent tournaments. Spain head into the 2026 World Cup in North America as one of the favourites in Group H, building on their recent major trophy successes.

Cucurella's comments underscore the unity and mutual respect within the Spanish setup as they prepare for the biggest prize in international football. Meanwhile, Spain is all set to kick off its 2026 World Cup campaign against Cape Verde.
