Real Madrid continue to dominate in the UEFA Champions League and knockout Manchester City from the Round of 16. It was a brilliant display from the Los Blancos across the two legs, as they won 5-1 on aggregate. After thrashing the Cityzens 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeau in the first leg, Fede Valverde and co. silenced the Etihad Stadium with a 2-1 win at the second leg.

Manchester City's failed comeback

The second leg began on a horrific not for Manchester City, as not only was Bernardo Silva sent off due to a hand ball in the opponent box, but also because Real Madrid got awarded with a penalty just 22 minutes into the match, Vinicius Jr made no mistake and slotted the ball home to give the visitors all important lead.

Real Madrid now had a four-goal cushion, and were firmly in charge of the game. Despite being far behind City refused to give up, as Erling Haaland scored with only few minutes left in the first half. The First half concluded at 1-1, with Madrid having a 4-1 lead.

City tried their level best to get back into the game, but it just wasn't meant to be. Madrid's backline put in a solid performance and ensured that City were not able to another goal. Vinicius scored his second in the second-half stoppage time to ensure that Madrid completed a famous triumph in Manchester. This goal made it 5-1 on aggregate, as Madrid moved into the quarterfinals with a convincing performance.
