Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice provided the light-hearted highlight of the day after the Gunners’ dominant 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the 2026 FA Community Shield. Following the 3-0 win at Principality Stadium in Cardiff sealed by goals from Riccardo Calafiori after just 23 seconds, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard, the players took turns lifting the trophy.

Rice, who came off the bench at half-time, raised the Community Shield high in front of the Arsenal fans. As he did so, the trophy’s stand tipped and struck him on the face and forehead. The England international briefly looked shocked before bursting into laughter and seeing the funny side.
The win marked Arsenal’s 18th Community Shield title and a strong statement ahead of their Premier League title defence. Meanwhile, it was the debut match for new head coach Enzo Maresca, which didn't go well following the three-goal loss.
