Joan Laporta has been re-elected as the president of the FC Barcelona club. He will begin his second-consecutive term, and fourth overall, from 1 July, the La Liga club announced on Sunday. To celebrate this, the Spanish businessman was seen dancing in style.

Laporta secured a decisive re-election as president of the Spanish giants, winning 68% of the vote in the club's presidential election and extending his leadership through 2031. His candidacy received 32,934 votes from socios, comfortably defeating challenger Víctor Font, who garnered 30% (14,385 votes), with the remainder consisting of blank and invalid ballots.
The result marks Laporta's fourth term overall, as he previously ruled the club from 2003-2010 and returned in 2021. Additionally, this comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilize the club's finances and complete the redevelopment project.
Meanwhile, Barca is at the top of the table with 70 points in La Liga competition, followed by arch rivals Real Madrid in second with 66. Atletico Madrid is in third in the table while Villareal and Real Betis hold the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
